Tathra Wharf

The Wharf has transformed over the years from a small jetty into a large wharf as the needs of the community changed. It was used to by farmers exporting goods to other coastal communities, livestock and others goods. The last freight ship to leave the wharf was in 1954. Today the wharf has been turned into a local icon. It is used regularly as a fishing spot and cafe. The local Tathra Surf Club hold the Wharf to Waves swim race every year starting from the Wharf.

Are they Dead?

I found this sculpture thought prevoking. Have we all lost tolerance, respect, fair play and commonsense? Can we bring them back? As I travel through different communities and cultures I find that they are all important to have. If you can not be tolerant and respectful in someones community, how can you be tolerant and respectful in your own?
Over the next 5 months I am going to be traveling and experiencing many things in different cultures and environments. I hope that I can show that tolerance, respect, fair play and commonsense are not dead.

What do you think? Are they still alive or have they died?

New Years by the River

I took the opportunity to get away from the big parties and celebrations of New Years this time. I went down to Bega River and watched the sunset and the moon rise. I wasn’t the only one down there. A few people were fishing and camping along the river.
